After apparently attempting to flee arrest to Taiwan, Cody Wilson — a well-known 3-D printed gun advocate, and creator of one of white supremacists’ favorite fundraising sites — is finally behind bars.
According to KVUE, Wilson was booked into jail in Texas’s Harris County on Sunday. He was arrested for felony sexual assault, and is accused of paying a teenager for sex. His bond is currently $150,000.
Wilson’s circuitous route to prison saw him fly to Taiwan, where he was arrested on Friday after missing his flight back to the U.S. Authorities believe Wilson may have missed his return flight on purpose. As KVUE wrote, police “believe he recently fled to Taiwan after he was tipped off about the warrant by a friend of the victim.”
Wilson allegedly met a 16-year-old girl through “SugarDaddyMeet.com,” where the girl told authorities Wilson referred to himself as a “big deal.” Wilson allegedly had sex with the minor, and surveillance footage has captured Wilson and the girl at Austin’s Archer Hotel.

Wilson has been a notorious advocate of the right to print guns. Despite a judge blocking Wilson from sharing 3-D firearm blueprints online, Wilson had announced his intention to sell the blueprints to potential buyers.
“I literally believe in the Second Amendment, to the point that it’s all right and it should be expected that there will be social costs for protecting a right like this,” he said in a recent interview. “Why is the people’s right to keep and bear arms on the Bill of Rights? Why is it even protected?”
Before becoming a 3-D printed gun enthusiast, Wilson was known for setting up the Hatreon fundraising site, which had positioned itself as an alternative for white supremacists booted off of other fundraising sites like Patreon. Earlier this year, though, the site — which Wilson had described as “the #1 platform for the Alt Right” — stopped processing payments, and is now effectively defunct.
