For many of us, Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer and the start of football season. Both are celebrated in much the same way: with a lot of beer and barbecues.
Of course, it’s only thanks to the tireless work of unions that many workers enjoy weekends off at all. Labor Day itself is a testament to those who fought for—and in some cases died for—friendlier work weeks, higher wages, and more benefits in the workplace.
What better way to commemorate all that unions have contributed to your long weekends than with a union-made barbecue? Check out this ThinkProgress graphic for some of the brands that rely on unionized labor.
