Donald Trump has, by all measures, spent the last several days obsessively complaining about Special Counsel Robert Mueller and Monday’s FBI raid on the office of his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen. But after dining with the president at the White House on Wednesday night, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) says he’s convinced the president is laser-focused on his legislative agenda.

On Fox & Friends, McCarthy was asked how distracted Trump is by his outraged on the investigation.

“You know what, I see him in all these different natures,” he replied. “This man focuses just on the work.”

McCarthy said the dinner discussion was focused on international issues, cutting spending, appointments, and legislation. “You wouldn’t know that this man has anything else going on in his life,” he concluded, “than getting his agenda through and The Wall.”

Watch:

On Monday night, Trump used a press availability — an event purportedly for the purpose of discussing Syria’s horrific chemical weapons attack — to rant about Mueller. “Why don’t I just fire Mueller? “Well, I think it’s a disgrace what’s going on. We’ll see what happens, but I think it’s really a sad situation.”

He took his grievances to Twitter, claiming falsely on Tuesday:

On Wednesday, he falsely attacked Mueller as a “conflicted” “Democrat loyalist.”

Trump also admitted to his own obstruction of justice efforts.

Trump then reportedly spent the day discussing whether to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller and has the power to remove him.

Even as he spent the evening dining with McCarthy and the GOP congressional leadership, he still found time to urge viewers to watch Sean Hannity devote his Fox News show to smearing Mueller, a Republican and the former FBI director, as a boss of a “crime family.

And Thursday morning, Trump got up early to continue the rants.

Clearly, Trump is focused entirely on infrastructure and foreign policy.
